SoCal Photography Shootout – Mad Men

Earlier this month I was asked to help lead a rotation at the SoCal Photography Shootout event, held at The Casino in San Clemente.

These shootouts usually happen every 2-3 months or so, and it’s way for photographers to get together for a styled shoot.  The theme for this shootout was “Mad Men.”

I had the pleasure of having Yianni & Ruby as my models.  They were a pleasure to work with – took direction well, looked great, and had fantastic attitudes the entire time!

We had 5 group rotations, with the groups ranging from 5-10 people.  My area was outside in the overcast weather, so I taught some my attendees on how to shoot outside in that sort of weather (hint = a reflector really helps with the raccoon eyes), as well as how to pose the couple.  I had a fantastic time at the shootout and I can’t wait until the next one!   Many thanks to Hanssie and the team for putting this together!
